Welcome back to the Midwest United Cup in 2018! We are back for our 10th year with our tournament slated to take place on the weekend of August 18-19, 2018! We are expecting over 280 teams this year at all of the best sites in the Grand Rapids Area!! The Midwest United Cup has quickly become one of the biggest and best tournaments in the Midwest. U8-U15 boys and U8-U19 girls teams may apply now!! All Select & Premier teams are welcome. U16-U19 Girls will play in four Showcase flights with College coaches invited from across the region. January 01, 2014 Midwest United proudly announces the 10th annual Midwest United Cup, August 18-19th, 2018. Teams will compete from all across the Midwest and Canada for the prestigious Midwest United Cup. Our main facility is the state-of-the-art MSA Fieldhouse and additional sites will be all within 20 mins of our central location, with Hotels all located next to MSA. The other main sites are Port Sheldon, Brewer Park, ThornApple Kellogg HS, and Riverfront Park which all boasts 8 grass fields each in great condition. Only local GVSA teams will play Friday night games, unless otherwise requested. This tournament provides an excellent pre-State Cup and pre-season event with quality competition and venues and stress free check-in at MSA. All coaches will be accommodated to avoid game conflicts. The tournament is sanctioned by MSYSA and US Soccer. Experience the great atmosphere of downtown Grand Rapids and we are close to the West Michigan Beaches if you have time between games. The Hotels are all right on 28th St close to the Mall so there is plenty to do between games! We have grown to over 325 teams, making this one of the fastest growing tournament in the Midwest!! Due to the success of these tournaments and also our United Spring Classic in April, we have had a lot of early club interest in this years event. We expect to attract over 350 teams and make this tournament even better than before! The Showcase segment we run for the U16-U18G has been a huge success. We had very good competition and lots of representation from many Midwest college coaches. All top level showcase games are played at the same location which give the coaches an excellent opportunity to scout multiple players. Last year we had 4 showcase flights with 16 teams in each, resulting in excellent competition and exposure. Look forward to seeing you in Grand Rapids this Summer! Marc Frankland Tournament Director Team Selection Team acceptance to the Midwest United Cup will be completed by the "Selection Committee". Notifications are sent to all teams. The selection process is assisted by the information provided to the tournament on your application- example - team records, level of play, out of town/state vs local teams (to achieve a balance), performance in post-season tournaments including the "Midwest United Cup", etc. It is important to provide as much information as possible to assist the committee in properly evaluating your team. Cashing of the entry fee does not indicate acceptance to the tournament. No teams will be accepted until after the deadline. Accommodations The 2018 Midwest United Cup has again teamed up with its official housing service, Traveling Teams, to bring your team the utmost service for its housing needs. This will help make the process of reserving rooms easier and more reliable. If you wish to participate in the 2018 Midwest United Cup, you must use one of the hotels provided by Traveling Teams (unless you are a commuting team). ^ Back to the top
