About the Midwest United Cup
Midwest United FC proudly brings you the 13th annual Midwest United Cup, August 20-22, 2021. Teams will compete from all across the Midwest and Canada in the prestigious Midwest United Cup. Only local GVSA teams will play Friday night games, unless otherwise requested.
This tournament provides an excellent pre-State Cup and pre-season event with quality competition, great venues and stress free, contact free check-in via our registration partner SportsForms. All coaches will be accommodated to avoid game conflicts (up to 3 teams). The tournament is a sanctioned MSYSA and US Soccer event. Experience the great atmosphere of downtown Grand Rapids as well as the beautiful West Michigan beaches, of which we will be in close proximity to. All hotels are right on 28th St, close to the Mall so there is plenty to do between games!
We have quickly grown in past years to over 350 teams, making this the fastest growing tournament in the Midwest!! Due to the success of this tournament and also our United Spring Classic in April, we have had a lot of early club interest in this years event. We expect to attract over 360 teams and make this tournament even better than before!
The Showcase segment we run for the U16-U18G has been a huge success. We’ve had very good competition and a lot of representation from many Midwest college coaches in past years. All top level showcase games are played at the same location which give the coaches an excellent opportunity to scout multiple players.

Midwest United Cup
Team acceptance to the Midwest United Cup will be completed by the "Selection Committee". Notifications are sent to all teams. The selection process is assisted by the information provided to the tournament on your application- example - team records, level of play, out of town/state vs local teams (to achieve a balance), performance in post-season tournaments including the "Midwest United Cup", etc. It is important to provide as much information as possible to assist the committee in properly evaluating your team. Cashing of the entry fee does not indicate acceptance to the tournament. We ONLY accept paid teams. If we do not receive your payment by the deadline, your team may not be considered.
The 2021 Midwest United Cup has teamed up with its official housing service, Traveling Teams, to bring your team the utmost service for its housing needs. This will help make the process of reserving rooms easier and more reliable. If you wish to participate in the 2021 Midwest United Cup, you must use one of the hotels provided by Traveling Teams.
